The Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project is one of Australia’s largest resource projects. The Initial phase of the project consisted of two liquefied natural gas trains with a combined capacity of 8.9 million tonne per annum and a domestic gas plant.
Through our LNG focussed joint venture, KSJV, Kentech secured a contract with Bechtel, an international engineering and construction company headquartered in the USA, for the electrical and instrumentation pre-commissioning, commissioning and start up services for the downstream portion of the Wheatstone LNG processing facility including OSBL, Two Trains and a Domgas Plant.
Work commenced on site in early 2016 and completed in March 2019. Throughout the course of the project, our team delivered close to 1.3 million safe manhours with a peak of almost 400 men on site.
