With Ireland playing a key role in the development and growth of the information technology industry, it was critical to be able to have reliable data communications and storage capabilities available. Telecity is one of the leading providers of managed data centre services across Europe and due to the extent of the growth in Ireland they decided to set up a facility in Dublin.

Telecity needed to have their first hosting facility established within 9 months so having a turn-key provided was critical to achieving this date.

Kentech won the contracts to carry out the procurement of all major materials and the civil, electrical and mechanical fit-out, installation, testing and commissioning. Our work-scope included the procurement and installation of the following:

  • Civil: Forming all of the rooms from an open-plan area and fitting out the rooms to a completed state including laying floors, installation of false ceilings, fireproofing, painting and the doors
  • HVAC: Air conditioning units, associated chillers and air handling equipment
  • Electrical: LV and MV switchgear, MVA transformers, generators, UPS, all lighting equipment, DB’s etc.
  • All fire detection and intruder alarm systems

On Tuesday 9th February 2021, we announced an agreement to acquire the oil & gas business of SNC-Lavalin’s Resources Division.

This business includes people and assets brought together through their acquisition of the Kentz and other energy services businesses. This transaction marks an exciting, ground-breaking development for Kentech to reinforce our position as a leading integrated energy services provider and introduces us to the renewable / clean power marketplace. We now move forward together with a global network of more than 10,000 professionals united by a commitment of common values and strong partnerships with clients from across the world.
