This project involved the completion of two modules for the Molikpaq Platform, an existing platform operating on the Sakhalin-2 Development in Sakhalin Island, Russia

The two modules, one for gas processing and the other for oil processing, were designed to operate in extreme weather conditions enabling the Molikpaq Platform to produce for 12 months of the year as opposed to its previous production period of 8 months.

The Sakhalin Energy Investment Company (Shell) awarded the contract for the 1500 tonne modules to ABB Lummus Global of the Netherlands, who subsequently awarded the fabrication and construction to Gulf Piping Company (GPC) of Abu Dhabi.

Kentech was contracted to supply the Commissioning Coordination Manager, all the discipline Commissioning Engineers and Senior Technicians to work with the SEIC operations personnel to complete the commissioning works.

Working alongside GPC as the Fabricators, ABB as the Main Contractor and SEIC as the Client, Kentech played a critical role during the commissioning phase of this project.  This included the development of system limits and marking of key documents and drawings, verification of information, identification and hiring of qualified personnel through to training of the mechanical completions database and its directive for turnovers.

Kentech’s operation in Sakhalin Island was involved in the successful completion of this project.
