Following the signing of a Technical Services Agreement with Saipem’s Middle East operation, Kentech provided commissioning support for two FPSO conversion projects being undertaken at Dubai Dry Docks in Port Rashid, Dubai.

The Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels, converted from oil tankers, have a production capacity of 100,000 barrels/day and a storage capacity of 1,600,000 barrels.

FPSO Vitoria

Vitoria was the first FPSO conversion and was carried out for Petrobras of Brazil for their Golfinho 2 Offshore Development in waters of 1,400 metres off the coast of Brazil. ┬áKentech provided an experienced team of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation commissioning technicians to support Saipem’s commissioning activities in the final stages of the conversion process.

FPSO Gimboa

Gimboa was the second FPSO conversion and was carried out for Sonangol P&P of Angola for the Gimboa Field Development located about 85km off the coast in waters of 700 metres.  Kentech again provided a multi-disciplinary commissioning team to support Saipem on the project.

In both cases, Kentech technicians remained on board the vessels to conduct final commissioning activities during sea trials and at their final destinations in Brazil and Angola respectively.
