Kentech Kuwait was awarded the CCR Relocation project in March 2015 by Fluor, Daewoo and Hyundai JV (FDH JV). The project required a live change over during the ongoing processes of KNPC.
All operating groups were required to be relocated to alternate buildings without any disruption to production. The most critical activity was the relocation of Operating Group 10 which monitors and controls the critical operation requirements of KNPC and other stakeholders, requiring us to enter into a number of subcontracts with the key Original Equipment Manufacturers.
All the live relocation and changeovers were completed without any failures and recommissioned successfully within the scheduled one day window. This has been the first such relocation activity of its kind at KNPC and has been a huge success without any loss in production.
Although the co-ordination of the OEM’s proved challenging with resources provided from various countries, the professional execution and relocation of the 1st Operating Group enhanced the confidence of all stakeholders in our capability to deliver projects successfully.
The current CCR was subsequently refurbished and upgraded to align it with the latest technology and systems.
Following successful commissioning of the CCR relocation works, we were awarded additional works for LCR-6 Annex Building involving shutdowns, loop checks and function checks. The team were also subsequently awarded a significant contract to execute the complete E&I package on CFP Area 2.
