The Asab Gas Development Phase II Project (AGD II) for GASCO is designed to recover NGL from the sour condensate rich gas from the existing Asab Gas Plant (AGP).
Residue gas will be re-injected back into the reservoir for pressure maintenance purposes (gas cycling). Bechtel were the main EPC contractor for this $1200 million project.
The main facilities include two trains of gas treatment and NGL recovery units, mercury removal beds, propane refrigeration system, acid gas treatment, acid gas compression and TEG dehydration, DCS, ESD, F&G system, SCADA upgrade, substation and HV supply system, turbo expander, NGL storage, NGL pipeline to Habshan, NGL shipping facilities, offsites & utilities (boilers, water treatment, HRSGs, flare, nitrogen unit, instrument air system).
Kentech was awarded the contract for the complete electrical and instrumentation scope of works Part of Kentech’s scope also included the installation of a new Distributed Control System (DCS) and Emergency Shutdown System (ESD). Following successful completion of this scope, Kentech was also awarded an additional contract covering the full telecommunications installation works for the project.
Following the installation, testing and pre-commissioning phases of the project, Kentech also provided commissioning assistance to Bechtel.
