Kentech Mexico, along with their bid partner Chemisa S.A. de C.V. were awarded the contract for the upgrade of a 54″ water pipeline in the Pemex Morelos Petrochemical Complex in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz.
Kentech’s scope of work included the civil preparation, including land clearance, foundation installation, piperack erection followed by supply and installation of approximately 2km of 48″ diameter water pipeline. The pipeline was installed 1.7km above ground and 300m below ground and Kentech also provided coating works and testing thereafter.

This was the first project that Kentech Mexico have bid along with Chemisa and marked a major step into the civil and mechanical scopes of works. The project was being executed jointly by the two companies, with Kentech undertaking all procurement works, civil subcontracting, responsibility for all QA / QC activities under the guidance of the IMS system and erection and testing of the pipework upon delivery. Chemisa undertook administration tasks with Pemex.
The project was executed with 100% Mexican management and labor. Project execution was originally 310 days but additional works were requested by the client and as such the project was successfully completed with a total of 170,000 manhours expended overall.
